Some collaborations sound almost too natural on paper not to be a trap. Handing L'Impératrice’s Séquences over to Parcels felt like a predictable exercise: two retro-futuristic aesthetics, two ways of approaching the groove without ever forcing the energy. Released when L'Impératrice was solidifying its polished, synth-heavy disco-pop, this reinterpretation by the Berlin-based Australian quintet takes the opposite route. They didn't try to bulk up the track for dancefloors: they stripped it down.
